Short biography:

Dr. László Palkovics is a Széchenyi Award-winning engineer, professor, member of the Hungarian Academy of Science. He hes been the Secretary of State for Higher Education in the Ministry of Human Capacities since 2014. In 1989 he graduated from the Budapest University of Technology, from 1992 he has been the assistant professor of Department of Automobile Engineering. In 1995 he became the Director of the Knorr Bremse Research and Development Center in Budapest. Between 2001 and 2003 he was the Director of electronic engineering of the Knorr Bremse development center in Germany, and then he was promoted to be the Vice President of Advanced Engineering of the Knorr Bremse Systems for Commercial Vehicles. In 2010 he was elected to be the Vice rector of strategic affairs at the College of Kecskemet, where with his effective support the dual (practice-oriented) education has been launged. In 2012 He has been the Professor at the Department of Automobiles again at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.
On the basis of the suggestion of Mihály Varga, Minister of Economics, as the appreciation of his high achievement in research and his iconistic guidline drawer activities in August 21, 2013 he was awarded with the Order of Merit of the Hungarian Republic, Officer’s Cross.
